About Bernardo and Yolk

Whilst completing his formal education, 17-year-old Bernardo Braga has launched Yolk: a game-changing delivery service for high-end restaurants in London.

With a passion for dining and restaurants, Bernardo was repeatedly disappointed by the quality of the food deliveries received during the first Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020. More often than not the orders arrived cold, poorly presented and distinctly lacking in comparison to the experience of dining out pre-pandemic.

He was inspired to launch Yolk this month after a year in development to deliver signature dishes as the chefs at the city’s best restaurants intend – perfectly presented, fresh and hot.



Yolk combines cutting-edge delivery technology with the convenience of a user-friendly, app-based ordering system. Yolk’s industry-first unique and versatile heating systems uses silicone heat mats engineered and designed in Germany and exclusive to Yolk, on its bikes. This ensures food is maintained at exact temperatures.

Adjustable trays are configured to suit the size of the dish ordered and a strap system keeps the delivery stable and secure throughout the journey. The flexible heaters are connected to the bike’s battery to keep it at the constant temperature chosen by the chef as it leaves the kitchen, whether that is hot, up to 60°c, or chilled, down to 15°c.

After years of pop-ups and thousands of test kitchen hours, Bernardo opened the first Yolk. Now they work with the best local suppliers, from Tom Hixson of Smithfield to Saint Coffee Roastery in Hackney Wick, to create food & coffee of which he is truly proud of.

Bernardo has been hands on through every aspect of the process – inspired by his own entrepreneurial father – and is driven to continue product development. Initially Yolk operates within a five-mile radius of Mayfair’s Berkeley Square, home to the capital’s most revered restaurants.

Bernardo’s long-term ambition for Yolk is to expand beyond restaurant delivery to provide an at-home delivery service for the luxury lifestyle industry as a whole, acting as a luxury concierge. In addition, Yolk has international expansion plans in its vision, taking the concept from London to São Paulo and New York City.
