Set up during the pandemic by former Hotwire directors Darryl Sparey and Paul Stollery, the business is fully self-funded. With an impressive turnover of over £470k in its first year, Hard Numbers is one of the fastest growing agencies launched in 2020. It was also named ‘Best New Consultancy of the Year’ at the PRmoment Awards.

Billed as ‘the agency sales teams love’, the business has quickly attracted clients from across the technology, professional services and data and analytics industries. Its core service offering combined media relations and best-in-class creative with account-based marketing and outsourced lead generation.

More than half of its client base has never used a PR agency before. And its laser-like focus on results is challenging scepticism of what PR can do for high-growth businesses. 

Last year, it launched a report with CARMA, examining the impact of media coverage on 120 start-up and scale-up businesses. The results showed a clear correlation between those that invested in PR, and those that saw the largest increases in funding between their Series A and Series B.
