PR Dispatch is dedicated to supporting independent brands do their own PR. The platform was launched in 2017 and gives product-based businesses the tools, templates, guidance and contacts needed to DIY their own PR from just £53 per month. Founder Rosie-Davies Smith’s aim was to make PR accessible and affordable to thousands of independent UK Brands. Rosie used her ten year experience running award winning PR Agency LFA to teach brands the secrets of PR.
The genesis of PR Dispatch and Rosie’s foray into entrepreneurship is interesting. After finishing her Textile design degree in 2011, she worked as an intern at independent knitwear brand, Lowie. She was given piles of magazines and told to call them about featuring Lowie products. After weeks of cold calling, Rosie started to see the results–Lowie products being covered by major, national publications.
Two years later she founded LFA and PR Dispatch was founded in 2017. With the onslaught of COVID19, Rosie had to think hard and fast to avoid redundancies and keep the business running. With the majority of her clients having to pull out of LFA due to cost-cutting, PR Dispatch thrived because of its affordability, ease of access (the platform can be used from anywhere) and a sense of independence that it gives up and coming businesses.
The pandemic has forced a lot of people to turn their hobby into a viable stream of income to survive. With years of industry knowledge, a keen business sense and a passion for PR, Rosie and her team have been able to give up and coming UK businesses all the support they need to get much needed exposure.
