About Circular Computing
Circular Computing™ is the global leader in the remanufacturing of laptops, on a mission to create a more ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible way to buy enterprise-grade IT.
Operating from its state-of-the-art remanufacturing facility, Circular Computing has the world’s first and only BSI Kitemark™ for remanufactured laptops, certifying that it produces products ‘equal to or better than new’ as required by BS standard 8887. Through its 360-point stage Circular Remanufacturing Process, Circular Computing delivers HP, Dell and Lenovo laptops that look and perform like new, all whilst ensuring carbon-neutral processes and end-product.
Circular Computing’s remanufacturing process delivers an innovative alternative to the ‘new’, going above and beyond a cosmetically improved finish to ensure an intense focus on performance and reliability. Through its support of worldwide sustainability projects, every Circular Computing laptop is also a certified carbon-neutral product.
Following the success of its remanufacturing trials in 2015, Circular Computing took the next step in 2017 with the creation of its state-of-the-art remanufacturing facility. From then on, their founder Rod Neale had one mission – IT shouldn’t cost the earth or your wallet.
By increasing the adoption of remanufactured technology, Circular Computing is helping to break the unsustainable habits of the IT industry and address the e-waste crisis by growing the IT circular economy.
The “mountain” of waste electronic and electrical equipment discarded in 2021 weighed more than 57 million tonnes. That’s heavier than the Great Wall of China – the planet’s heaviest artificial object. Through Circular Computing’s remanufacturing process, 99% of the original materials are re-used to remanufacture a laptop and the last 1% goes into recycling, meaning zero waste is created.
For every Circular Computing remanufactured laptop, approximately 316kg (700lb) of CO2 emissions are prevented by not buying new. For just 1,000 laptops, that is the same as taking 80 cars off the road for a year.
