About ClimateTech Navigator
ClimateTech Navigator is a climatetech market intelligence platform that tracks the companies, investors, funding rounds and commercial deals driving the energy transition, and sells access at a price that startups, small funds and researchers can actually afford.
The company grew out of a problem the founder kept running into in practice. Working as a corporate sustainability consultant advising large companies on net zero, and later building an AI-based ESG platform, he found that the data on who is building climate solutions sat behind enterprise subscriptions costing five figures a year per seat.
Climatetech has a discovery problem as much as a capital problem. The International Energy Agency puts around 35 percent of the emissions cuts needed by 2050 on technologies that are still at prototype or demonstration stage, and those are precisely the companies that are hardest to find. Locking the map away behind a paywall makes that worse.
The platform now covers 30,611 companies, 4,458 investors, 53,038 funding rounds, 7,537 climate funds and 5,724 commercial deals, all tagged against a purpose-built climate taxonomy. It runs on an agentic data pipeline rather than a research desk. Collection agents scan news, filings and the open web for new companies and deals, enrichment models turn raw sources into structured profiles, a structuring agent classifies everything into the taxonomy, and an assurance layer cross-validates records and flags anything doubtful for human review.
The hardest challenge has been trust rather than volume. At tens of thousands of records, entity resolution quietly breaks. One company appears twice under two domains, a fund target gets recorded as a close, a listed conglomerate slips in alongside genuine climate innovators. Fixing that meant building full duplicate detection and review, a permanent archive so that nothing is ever silently deleted, audit stamping on reviewed records, and written scope rules applied consistently on every pass. All of it built by a solo founder alongside a PhD, with no outside investment.
The impact on the SaaS ecosystem comes down to pricing and access. Advanced Access is 600 GBP a year, against climate specialist incumbents charging 5,000 to 50,000 GBP and upwards per seat. Pay as you go credits mean data is not gatekept behind a subscription, and enterprise integration at around 4,000 GBP a year covers API and Model Context Protocol access, so users can query the database directly from their own AI tools.
Traction so far: more than 400 users curated organically over six months, the majority of them climate investors. A weekly deal digest reaching over 400 subscribers, roughly 70 percent of whom are venture capitalists. A first paying subscriber and first data licensing customers. Partnerships with five organisations to widen distribution and co-author research. ClimateTech Navigator is supported by Google Cloud for Startups and Microsoft for Startups, and is part of the Sustainable Ventures National Climate Tech Accelerator.
The aim is straightforward. Make climate innovation easy to find, so that capital reaches the technologies that need it most.
