Business: A search engine where job seekers can find jobs to apply to directly.
Founded by Dylan Buckley and Will Capper in 2018, DirectlyApply enables people to match their interests and abilities to thousands of roles from hiring companies. In addition to this helpful search feature, job seekers can also use the free resume builder, diversity and inclusion checker, job application tracker, and salary comparisons tools. DirectlyApply is a one-stop-shop for job hunting.
The tech startup was set up to address the inefficiencies of job boards and the widespread pay-per-click business model. To overturn the established clickbait model, DirectlyApply’s team of software developers focused on building a rewarding and accessible user experience that guaranteed a steady base of users.
Despite lockdown and the fall in available jobs, DirectlyApply experienced rapid growth over the last 12 months, seeing revenue jump by 1,400 percent. The platform, which directly connects jobseekers to the roles they want, has introduced more than 30 major features, while jobseeker traffic has risen 2,150 percent from last year.

This has been improved by the new Direct Employers platform, software smoothening the process companies go through to upload jobs. This refined procedure ensures employers receive an average click-to-application rate six times higher than the industry average, creating good matches and positive feedback from employers and employees alike. DirectlyApply has been able to brag a 90% success rate for monthly users looking for work.
Initially funded by £250k from angel investors, the company is now fully profitable and celebrates a £3mn turnover. This success on a relatively minor budget is resulting from – and not in spite of – the cultivation of lasting relationships with clients.
DirectlyApply has carefully designed a system over the last three years that matches job seekers with the jobs they want to do, limiting the number of wasted applications and cutting out inefficiency at source. The company is now focused on supplying candidates within delivery, logistics and supermarket retail, harnessing the site’s inherent versatility to pair the most qualified candidates with the right jobs.
