About Berfin & Bower
A graduate of Stockholm School of Economics, Berfin Mert co-founded Bower with her brother Suwar Mert in 2015. Her motivation was to create a company she would be passionate to work at, while at the same time doing something good for the planet and others.
Bower is the app that directly rewards users with coupons, discounts or money for recycling everyday packaging. Available on both Android and iOS, users can register any product with a barcode and any recycling location that they take it to. One option in the app for the money earned by users is to send it to a charity. Over €12,300 has been donated to good causes through Bower so far.
The free to use app, which is one of the most popular in its native Sweden, and in its category globally, currently has around 300,000 users in the Nordic region. To date, Bower has been responsible for saving over 1,000,000kg of carbon dioxide.
