What is Microverse?

Microverse is an online school for remote software developers where students around the world pay nothing until they land a life-changing job. They are on a mission to train and connect 1 million talented people worldwide with remote jobs by 2030.

They provide a rigorous and supportive peer-to-peer learning environment for professional and globally-minded software developers. At Microverse, students learn through more than 1,000 hours of remote pair programming and real-time collaboration.

“I grew up in Argentina, went to school in Europe, built a business in San Francisco, taught in Africa, and lived in Asia for a year. In my life’s journey, I’ve seen that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.”

Who Founded Microverse?

Ariel Camus founded Microverse in 2018 to provide people all over the world with the opportunity to learn software development. Asking for no upfront fees, Microverse helps people learn the skills they need to get hired. Microverse is a fully remote and global company, with team members across 20+ countries, who come together to make an impact through education.

“Nowadays, the Internet makes it possible for anyone to connect with global jobs regardless of where they were born or live. However, paying for a great education is incredibly difficult for most people.

I started Microverse to change that—to help people from all around the world learn software development at no upfront cost and to connect them with global jobs no matter their location, gender, or background.”

What Makes Them Stand Out?

Microverse aren’t the first – and certainly won’t be the last – company using technology to help provide learning opportunities across the world. However, they charge no upfront fees for their courses: “you owe us nothing until you get a job — no matter what country you’re in.” As well as this, they provide their students with support and accountability, through a dedicated Student Success Team, mentors, a personal career coach, and more.

“Our team curates a curriculum that helps you learn the most in-demand skills in web development so you can get a great job, no matter where you live. During our full-time, 10-month program, you’ll develop your technical skills, build projects, and improve the soft skills you need to excel in remote teams.

At the end of Microverse, your personal career coach will support your job search. They help you prepare for interviews, negotiate job offers, and start your career as a software developer.”

Microverse boasts some impressive statistics:

  • 85% of students land a job within 3 months of job searching
  • Microverse alums make 3x their previous salaries on average
