About Stone, A Converge Company

Established in 1991, Stone, A Converge Company is a leading circular provider of ICT solutions to UK public sector and private sector organisations of all sizes. Stone’s mission is to improve the education, health and quality of life of people in the UK through technology services.

Stone encourages everyone they work with to push the boundaries, all whilst being sustainable in the way people and organisations conduct their business. Its vision is to make a true and lasting impact on the way IT is sold, providing a full circular procurement cycle for customers for the good of the environment and future generations.

Opened in 2010, Stone’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) accredited IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) facility at their headquarters in Stafford ensures their customers can responsibly and securely dispose of their redundant tech. Accompanying this, the Stone 360 app (launched in 2020) allows Stone’s customers to easily access their recycling facilities, ensuring that no waste is sent to landfill. Since the app’s launch, more than 1,227,956 broken or redundant IT items have been saved from landfill and it has been downloaded more than 30,000 times.

Looking ahead, Stone’s commitment to sustainability is geared towards its trajectory to Net Carbon Zero, with a goal to obtain the PAS 2060 accreditation by 2030. In order to achieve this, the organisation appointed its first head of sustainability, Sheryl Moore, last year to further bolster their green credentials. This appointment and the continued development of the Stone 360 app is a testament to Stone’s commitment to tackling the e-waste crisis.
