About LMF Network
Like Minded Females Network is a global social enterprise with a mission to empower and enable women and underrepresented groups in sectors where diverse talent is missing, such as technology, digital, and entrepreneurship. LMF Network specialises in digital workshops, mentoring programmes and coaching to upskill and create community.
LMF was founded in 2018 by Sonya Barlow as a female empowerment and diversity initiative to bring together women from diverse backgrounds to have career and confidence conversations during brunch meetings. It started as a closed Linkedin group before venturing out to the other social platforms to raise awareness.
Three years later, in 2021, LMF Network has grown into a global community of more than 40,000 followers across social media channels that have upskilled more than 10,000 people through career skills workshops and community events to bridge the skills gaps. In the context of the impact Covid had on young professionals’ future, LMF launched a digital mentoring programme in 2020 to upskill the next generation of young talent from underrepresented backgrounds through monthly workshops, supportive relationships and role models.
This scheme has already delivered a second programme, a special edition for Women in Tech, and LMF Network is planning its third year of mentoring programmes. To date, LMF has fostered almost 1,000 mentorship relationships and has been found the most successful and most extensive mentoring programme in the UK.
In 2022, LMF Network has plans to expand its network and reach beyond the UK and Canada – where they have two chapters – to champion and empower women and diverse groups across the world, thus changing the narrative of inclusion.
