The Turmeric Co. was founded in 2018, it is a family-run business that produces health drinks, specifically health shots that are created with different purposes. Robson-Kanu was inspired to start the business after experiencing the health benefits of turmeric first-hand. This experience enabled him to continue his professional footballing career and be even stronger than before.
One of the biggest aspects that Robson-Kanu has commented on is the taste, he has emphasised that the homemade shots created by himself and his family aren’t watered down and don’t contain synthetic flavourings. The product is a culmination of 15 years of home-testing to develop the perfect blend. Since its founding, The Turmeric Co. has collaborated with Everton FC and hundreds of thousands of orders which ‘kicked off’ during the first lockdown.
With a goal to become more sustainable The Turmeric Co. offers options for customers to return their packaging back to the HQ which can then recycle the used products. The Turmeric Co. is also carbon neutral and have offset their carbon footprint with ClimatePartner’s biomass project.
Robson-Kanu has spoken about the aim of The Turmeric Co. which is to help others by creating the best-tasting functional drinks, the company operates around values such as honesty, positivity, innovation and ambition. He has emphasised the importance of using natural ingredients which deliver the best results and the desire to make the business global.
To date, The Turmeric Co. has products stocked in over 300 locations within the UK. Products range from £35 for a one-time purchase of 14 shots (£2.50 per shot) – if you purchase using the subscription, there is a reduced fee taking the final price to £31.50 (£2.25 per shot). There is also the option to increase to 28 shots and a variety of different flavours including raw turmeric & beetroot, raw turmeric & ginger and the original raw turmeric.
