Cazoo was launched in 2019 by Alex Chesterman. No stranger to entrepreneur fame, Chesterman is founder of property website Zoopla (2007) as well as former winner of Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year (2013). At the end of 2018, Chesterman raised over £30m in pre-seed funding before a further £50m pre launch funding for Cazoo and most recently another £100m.
Though very new on the scene, Cazoo has transformed the used car market. Its model is based on buying quality used cars, selling them online and delivering them to your door. It aims to make buying a used car hassle-free. Consumers can buy or finance the cars entirely online and delivery is made within 72 hours. Cazoo assures quality as it owns and fully reconditions every car listed on the website. Their mission is to be the best experience for car buyers. They aim to offer a wide selection, value, convenience and quality. All of this without the consumer needing to leave their homes.
