About Maestra

For most ecommerce brands, the limit on marketing is not the technology. It is the bandwidth to use it. Every brand wants to give its customers a seamless experience. Messages should feel like a one-to-one conversation. Recommendations should come from what the shopper actually bought. Loyalty should offer the right perk at the right moment, so the customer feels seen. Dozens of vendors sell the tools to build that experience. Very few brands are actually running marketing like it.

We went looking for the gap and kept finding the same thing. Marketers know exactly what to build. Nobody has the bandwidth to build it.

So at Maestra we decided to give brands the hands along with the tools. That became our business model: one platform for all ecommerce marketing, plus a Forward Deployed Marketer.

Our platform runs email, SMS, push, onsite personalization, product recommendations and loyalty in one place. Every channel works from the same customer profile, updated in real time, so the experience stays consistent from the site to the inbox to the loyalty page.

The marketer is the other half. Most vendors assign a customer success manager, a role built around onboarding, support and upsell. A Forward Deployed Marketer builds. Each one works with around 15 brands instead of the usual 60, joins a weekly call, sits in a shared Slack channel and has one mandate: turn what the brand wants to launch into live campaigns. The brand sets the priorities. The marketer ships them.

We have tested this with brands from niche labels to nine-figure companies, and the pattern repeats. The projects a brand has been putting off for months go live, and the results follow.

– Selkirk Sport, a pickleball brand, had spent a year on its previous platform trying to get the basics working. With a dedicated Maestra marketer, cart recovery, back-in-stock alerts and partner segmentation finally launched. Email revenue grew 55% YoY and SMS revenue 149%.

– Magnum Bikes, an e-bike maker, unified online and in-store data, rebuilt its flows by product line and ran promotions across email, SMS and site, all without expanding the team. Online orders doubled.

– Enlightened Equipment, an outdoor gear maker, improved pop-ups, recommendations, cart recovery and post-purchase emails one step at a time, and total revenue grew 52.5%.

Reviews say the same. Nearly every one of our G2 reviews mentions the service, and G2 has awarded us its Best Support badge.

Since launching in 2023, we have grown this model to more than 100 brands, and we think the rest of the market will follow. Software companies already send forward deployed engineers to make complex products work inside a client. Marketing needs the same, because the hard part is not the features. It is turning them into the experience a brand wants its customers to have. That is the job we built the Forward Deployed Marketer for.
