About Stephen and Swish
Stephen Afam-Osemene is a Mechanical Engineering graduate who believes in using technology to solve problems. He emphasises the importance of using technology to improve lives and change the world around us.
Stephen began his career in software development because he wanted to make a difference. He needed a website at the time but couldn’t afford one, so he decided to build one himself. To him, software feels limitless, like creating something from nothing, like starting with a blank canvas and producing solutions.
This journey led to building a no-code blogging platform for SaaS companies, Swish, which launched in 2020.
Swish.ink started after Stephen experienced some blockers from running his personal blog on WordPress but didn’t find something that worked for his use case. Swish.ink is a content management solution for writers who need all the tools they can get to effectively write, without having to build them.
Stephen built Swish.ink as a better, customisable and cost-effective alternative for companies using Medium and Ghost to scale their marketing efforts. Swish Users can get the best out of their blogging experience with custom domains, SEO, Automatic cross-posting, unlimited users, analytics, amazing integrations, and more. The idea is to not have the user worry about anything beyond writing content.
The plugins are all first-party, but give a lot of power to your blog. The platform is simple to use, with automatic defaults for everything you’d expect from a SaaS platform. Swish was awarded the Quality Choice Award and Happiest Users Award badges by Crozdesk.
Since launch, the founder has worked alongside PitchGround and the product is being used by over 300 businesses and bloggers. Over the next year, there are plans to expand the platform to address the B2B market.
Alongside building Swish, Stephen currently works with JustWatch Germany as a Senior Software Engineer. Prior to working at JustWatch, he worked with GetSafe and Engel & Völkers in Germany.
Stephen has also built and maintained several high-quality products outside of Swish.ink. An example is Iteretta, a delightfully simple newsletter experience, and SQLBoiler, a tool to generate a Go ORM tailored to your database schema.
