About Janthana and Tapoly
The idea for Tapoly came in 2016 when Janthana tried to list her property on AirBnB and found there wasn’t an insurance product available to cover herself and her guests. Fast forward to the present and Tapoly is now an established digital managing general agent providing insurance for SMEs and freelancers, supplying underwriting services, distribution, and end-to-end, white labelled SaaS solutions that connect insurers with their distribution partners.
As a teenager, Janthana migrated from Thailand to Sweden, learning to navigate new cultures and languages alongside her academic studies. She rose to the challenge, qualifying as a chartered accountant and working at top institutions including Deutsche Bank and UBS, where she reached Internal Audit Director before moving to London in 2016 with just £300 in her pocket and the idea for Tapoly forming in her mind.
Driving industry-wide digital transformation underpins everything Janthana does and she’s always looking to forge new partnerships, products, POCs and investors. She’s passionate about improving diversity in the insurance and fintech industries, so provides mentoring and internship opportunities to give women a chance to take their first step in these spaces. She is a regular speaker and media commentator, championing emerging technologies, STEM education for women and sharing her personal story to inspire people from diverse backgrounds to believe in themselves and the unique value they can bring to the industry.
Since its inception, Tapoly has maintained an average annual growth rate of 200%. They have over 40 partners across Asia, North America, Australia, the EU and the UK who see the benefits of their in-house built AI and ML driven SaaS platforms. Janthana is planning to keep up the momentum in 2022, expanding Tapoly’s platform in emerging countries, further diversifying their product lines and revolutionising the insurance industry.
